Facebook users have demanded the ” Dislike ” button on Facebook for a long time, although Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Facebook) previously destroyed everyone’s hope by saying they won’t be releasing it due to many reasons, mainly because it might affect Facebook’s uniqueness from other social networking sites, until this Tuesday’s interview which revealed there might be hope after all for the Dislike Button to come to life.
Mark Zuckerberg stated ” I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we’re working on it and shipping it “
The main reason is due to Mark Zuckerberg finally realizing that the Like button doesn’t suit every situation such as a family death or accident, it seems weird having to Like such tragedies, hence Mark stated that a new feature to express sympathy will come.
Although this might seem great news to many people, I think it won’t work out as there are a lot of trolls on the Internet who will begin to misuse the Dislike Button on Facebook eventually forcing Facebook to remove it some day and no one likes having their content disliked. This feature has more cons than pros if you look at it from a business point of view. Although the dislike button hasn’t been confirmed yet, since they’re just words at the moment.
Comment below what you think about the feature and whether it’s a good move or not!
